2006 Fall Conference & Workshop Theme

Treating Anxiety: Body, Brain and Soul

The 2006 Fall Conference took a holistic look at the treatment of anxiety disorders. Sponsored jointly by the Delaware Counseling Association and the Delaware Mental Health Counselors Association, this first conference featured three approaches that focus on the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of clients.

The program was open to any professional working in the behavioral health field. It was also appropriate for those who provide direct care, supervise those providing direct care, and for those who are interested in learning more about treatment options for anxiety disorders.

Conference Postscript:
And a great time was had by all....

The 2006 Fall Conference has come and gone, and by all accounts it was a great success. The presentations were captivating and of a high caliber. Thanks especially to Dr. Cliff Smith who mesmerized the audience with his heartfelt and insightful analysis of the psychospiritual journey and transformation process as illustrated by Ebenezer Scrooge in Dickens' A Christmas Carol. Dr. Jim Walsh provided a keynote lunch address that interwove stories of his childhood and his father with wise comments about the nature of fear and anxiety. Bruce Palmer and Peggy Lubin managed to present a potpourri of mind-body techniques in a short period of time while Drs. Walsh and Steve Eichel engaged their audience in a captivating dialogue about the differences and similarities between hypnosis and mindfulness meditation.

And...the food was great!
